Eleven contracted Counties Manukau Steelers and Heat players will take part in this week’s Super Rugby pre-season event at Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe.
The Chiefs men and Chiefs Manawa sides will take part in games against the Blues (men and women respectively) as well as the Waratahs from NSW with a host of local talent on show in front of friends and families.
Counties Energy Heat stars Arihiana Marino-Tauhinu, Hazel Tubic, and Mererangi Paul will all line-up for the Chiefs Manawa – the defending Super Rugby Aupiki champions.
Provincial teammates Grace Gago and Jaymie Kolose will be wearing the Blues colours.
Exciting outside back Etene Nanai-Seturo and Peniasi Malimali will represent the Chiefs men while they will line-up against PIC Steelers teammates Dalton Papali’i, Nepo Laulala and Hoskins Sotutu, who will all be playing for the Blues men.
Promising young prop Kauvaka Kaivelata will also play for the Chiefs as a development player.
In other Super Rugby Pre-Season action this week Cam Roigard and Ioane Moananu are on the bench for the Hurricanes and Crusaders respectively in their teams’ match up.
While Ezekiel Lindenmuth, Sam Slade, Alex McRobbie and Alamanda Motuga will be in action for Moana Pacifica in their game against the Highlanders.
The game of three halves (30-minute periods) will be the format for both games.
