Eight current PIC Steelers have been named in international representative squads over the weekend including three in the All Blacks squad.
Halfback Cam Roigard joins Dalton Papali’i and Nepo Laulala in the All Blacks squad while winger/fullback Etene Nanai-Seturo has been picked in the All Blacks XV squad.
Moana Pasifika players Alamanda Motuga, Samuel Slade and Jonathan Taumateine have been selected in the Samoan national side while hooker Zuriel Togiatama has been picked to play for Fiji for the first time.
Former Counties Manukau players Fritz Lee, Jordan Taufua and Tim Nanai-Williams have also been included in the Samoan squad.
Augustine Pulu has been picked in the Tongan squad.
“It is a real pride in the hoops moment seeing so many current and former Steelers players representing their countries,” said PIC Steelers coach Reon Graham.
“It is great to see so many from our 2022 and 2023 squads in there especially.
“Not only is it a great opportunity for those players to represent their country but it also provides an opportunity for local players to step up this NPC season.”
