The Counties Energy Heat have picked up their second win of the Farah Palmer Cup season after beating the Bay of Plenty Volcanix 25-12 in Tauranga on Sunday.
In arguably the side’s best performance to date, the Counties Energy Heat ran away with the game in the second half.
Winger Jaymie Kolose scored a double while Black Ferns halfback Arihiana Marino-Tauhinu dotted down as well.
It was a terrific all-round team performance from the Counties Energy Heat but number eight Joanna Fanene Lolo was a stand-out with her strong carries and colossal work on defense.
Marino-Tauhinu was impressive yet again as well.
JP Faamausili’s side has now won two of its last three matches and that loss came with a good performance against a strong Canterbury side.
After a bye next weekend, the Counties Energy Heat are back in action against defending champions Waikato in a fortnight at Navigation Homes Stadium.
