PIC Steelers players Riley Hohepa, Tevita Ofa and Joshua Gray have been called into the Chiefs wider squad for Super Rugby Pacific in 2024.
The trio enjoyed impressive campaigns for the PIC Steelers during the Bunnings Warehouse NPC competition this year but missed guaranteed contracts when they were announced last month.
Instead, they are added to the wider group as replacements for various periods over the pre-season.
Hohepa, who represents Patumahoe, played with the Hurricanes in a similar role last season, but this is the first time Ofa (Manurewa) or Gray (Patumahoe) have been given a chance.
They join fellow PIC Steelers Etene Nanai-Seturo, Peniasi Malimali and Kauvaka Kaivelata in the Chiefs squad.
