Former Maori All Black, Counties Manukau player and Manurewa Rugby Club life member Ray Reardon has passed away at the age of 87.
Reardon was a renowned figure in the sport during the 1960s, where he played in both Counties Manukau and Waikato. A prop/hooker, Reardon played 10 games for Counties during his time with the Union.
He represented Counties from 1960-62 and the Maori All Blacks in 1965 and 1966.
At club level he was a giant for Manurewa as firstly a player and then became a title-winning coach during Manurewa's golden era in the 1980s. He was also a past President of the club as well.
Reardon passed away in Mt Maunganui where he has lived for many years.
