A strong Counties Manukau U19 team had been named to play in the 2021 representative season but the COVID restrictions in Auckland have forced the abandonment of the program.
Counties Manukau Rugby wants to recognise those players and team management that had been chosen to be part of the program.
“It is so disappointing for this group of players and the management staff not to be able to represent the Union this year,” Counties Manukau Rugby Operations Manager Dale Tucker said.
“I want to congratulate them for their selection and thank them for their efforts in getting ready to play.
“I also want to thank Jeza and his team for their commitment under very trying circumstances this season. Hopefully COVID will be a thing of the past by next season.”
