Counties Manukau has taken out both the men’s and women’s competitions at the Northern Region Sevens hitout held at Navigation Homes Stadium over the weekend.

The Steelers men won all four games to take out the title, beating North Harbour, Northland, Thames Valley and Bay of Plenty on the way to claiming the trophy.

The Steelers women prevailed after winning three out of their four matches – the same number of wins as Bay of Plenty – but claiming the title having won the head-to-head match against the Volcanix.

In all, 18 matches were played throughout the day, hosted by Counties Manukau Rugby.
