The Counties Energy Heat have opened their 2024 Farah Palmer Cup in style with a superb 47-24 win over Canterbury at Navigation Homes Stadium on Saturday.
It was the side’s first win over Canterbury since 2015 and they did so in style, scoring inside the first three minutes before taking control of the game.
The home side scored seven tries, including a double to fullback Jaymie Kolose, as they secured maximum points.
Hazel Tubic contributed 17 points via a try and six conversions.
The Heat are back in action next Saturday when they head to Napier to face Hawke’s Bay.
