Another weekend of representative rugby is set to get underway on Saturday with the Counties Manukau U-85kg team squaring off against Waikato at Patumahoe Domain on October 1.
The match forms part of finals day for the Northern Regions U-85kgs teams, with the local lads taking on the visitors from down State Highway 1 at 1pm before Auckland takes on North Harbour in the decider at 3pm.
Also repping the red, white and black hoops across wider Auckland this weekend are the Counties Manukau U-16s boys who play host to Northland at Southern Park in Papakura on Saturday. Kick off is also at 1pm.
Meanwhile, the Counties Manukau U-18 boys and girls teams head up to Albany for respective games against their North Harbour counterparts on Saturday. Both matches get underway at 1pm at the North Harbour Marist Rugby Club with the boys on field one and the girls on field two.
A big weekend of representative footy then comes to a close on Sunday afternoon when the PIC Steelers play host to Wellington at Navigation Homes Stadium. Kick off is at 2:05pm.
Both teams will be vying for the Jonah Lomu Memorial Trophy with the hosts also set to wear a one-off special retro jersey in honour of the fallen superstar and his fellow winger from the 1990s, Joeli Vidiri, who passed away earlier in the year.
The match-worn jerseys will then be auctioned off in the Phil Kingsley Jones Lounge after the game, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
