Waiuku have claimed the U85kg championship after beating Karaka 18-17 in a thrilling competition final at Navigation Homes Stadium on Saturday.
The top ranked side all season, Waiuku had to work hard in the decider to earn their championship as the number two seeds pushed them to the brink.
It is the second successive championship for Waiuku, who prevailed over Patumahoe in the 2023 final.
The Waiuku Sid Marshall Shield side will host a semi-final next weekend after they thumped Manurewa 55-19 at Mountfort Park to book top spot heading into the knockout phase.
Weymouth will also host a semi-final despite defaulting to Onewhero, who they were guaranteed to play in the semi-finals heading into the weekend.
Drury warmed up for the semi-finals with a 60-24 win over Tuakau.
Puni finished their campaign on a high, beating Te Kauwhata 22-17 while Maramarua prevailed over Te Kohanga 25-5.
Pukekohe won the President’s Cup final over Ardmore Marist 10-5 in a close match at Navigation Homes Stadium.
