A desperate Papakura side hosts Pukekohe in McNamara Cup action this Saturday as they hunt a win that will keep them within touching distance of the top four.

This weekend represents the end of the first round of competition and Papakura are in danger of dropping out of the semi-final race if they were to lose.

Despite looking like a much more competitive side in 2024, Papakura just hasn’t secured the results to date.
With just a win over bottom-placed Ardmore Marist and a draw against Bombay to show for their first half so far, the Jarrod Firth/Mark Thomas coached outfit will be out for a big result against a resurgent Pukekohe side.

Pukekohe bounced back from a two-game losing streak to beat Bombay at home last week and will look to keep in touch with the leaders as they search for a fourth win from six games.

Second-placed Patumahoe should face a stern test from Bombay up the hill as they comeback from last week’s bye.
Top-of-the-table Karaka travels to Bruce Pulman Park to play Ardmore Marist in what should be one-way traffic.

Two of the leading sides in the Sid Marshall Shield will square off when Waiuku hosts Weymouth at Rugby Park on Saturday.
The two sides top the standings so far and the game promises to be a close encounter.

Maramarua hosts an improving Manurewa outfight while Te Kauwhata will hope last week’s win inspires them against defending champions Drury at Drury Domain.

Onewhero crosses the Tuakau Bridge to face Tuakau while Te Kohanga hosts Puni in what is always a fierce battle.
Manurewa travels to Pukekohe in the Massey Cup U21 competition while in the other match of the week Patumahoe hosts Ardmore Marist.

The TKO (Tuakau, Te Kohanga, Onewhero) side meets Manurewa at Onehwero in the Bright Cup U19 grade.
Elsewhere, Weymouth travels to Pukekohe and Waiuku hosts Auckland side Puketapapa.

In the U85kg grade, neighbours Karaka and Patumahoe meet at Karaka Sports Complex, Beachlands Maraetai hosts Onewhero at Te Puru Park while Drury heads to Waiuku.

Manurewa hosts College Rifles in the Women’s Premier competition at Mountfort Park while in the Women’s Development grade, all local sides are on the road.

Papakura heads to Waitakere, Pukekohe travels to Massey, Patumahoe is away to College Rifles and Karaka heads to Pakuranga.
