Papakura High School have retained the 1st XV Challenge Shield for another week after successfully defending it 12-5 against Tuakau College in Bhana Family Farms Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Rugby.
After an opening week draw and winning the coin toss to get their hands on the new trophy, Papakura lifted to the challenge of defeating a strong Tuakau side.
Pukekohe High School continued their strong start to the season with a 29-18 win on the road against Rosehill College, while Waiuku College got a win by default against Pukekohe High XVA.
Te Kauwhata College scored a tense 17-15 win at home against Papakura High School in Boys U15 Open action.
Waiuku College held off Tuakau College 29-15 while Pukekohe High recorded 37-7 win over Alfriston College.
In Boys U14 Open play, Tuakau College grabbed a 27-22 win on the road against Waiuku College while Pukekohe High handed St Ignatius their first loss with a 34-12 victory.
Pukekohe High beat Papakura High 24-12 in Girls 12s action on Friday night.
Elsewhere, James Cook High beat Tuakau College 20-0 while Alfriston College blanked Waiuku College 44-0.
