Bombay flanker David O’Connell and Papakura lock forward Matt Thorburn will each celebrate playing 100 games for their clubs when they play against each other on Saturday.
O’Connell has enjoyed a stellar season with Bombay and has been a terrific contributor over a long period of time.
He has got himself in the frame for representative honours this season.
Thorburn is a hard-working lock that goes about his business without fuss and has been a key performer for Papakura for a number of seasons.
“Matt has been one of our real club members,” said Papakura president Rod Honan. “He’s been there since the highs and lows. He’s travelled around the world playing in England and America but his roots were back with Kura and I’m so proud that he has got his hundred games.”
The game kicks off at 3pm at Bombay Domain.
