Manurewa’s push for the Coleman Shield women’s premier trophy came to an end on Saturday when they were beaten 41-23 by College Rifles in the semi-finals.

The Counties Sports Hub Shield holders weren’t able to stay with the Auckland giants, who also beat Manurewa in the round robin stage.

There was better news for the other two local women’s sides in action over the weekend – Weymouth scored a 41-5 win over Waitemata in Richard-Martin Shield action while Patumahoe edged Puketapapa 25-22.
