Karaka has taken out the Counties Energy Counties Manukau Sevens tournament at Te Kauwhata Rugby Club on Saturday.
The 2021 McNamara Cup champions ran out victors over Patumahoe in the competition final – the first since 2019 due to COVID.
The two finalists looked a cut above the other sides in the competition.
The final was a close and defensively sound affair, but Karaka came out on top, taking more of their chances.
Earlier Karaka accounted for Pukekohe in the semi-finals, while Patumahoe saw off the challenge from Manurewa to advance to the decider.
Karaka’s Aporosa Derenalagi was the competition’s leading try-scorer.
