Kalione Hala will play his 100th McNamara Cup match
Karaka’s Kalione Hala will play his 100th McNamara Cup match when his side faces Manurewa at Mountfort Park on Saturday. Hala has been a central figure in Karaka’s success over the past decade, helping them to numerous finals while being part of the successful 2021 championship-winning side.

The Tongan international made his debut for the club back in 2013 and has played nearly every position in the backline during his stint.
He has captained the premier side for the past two seasons. “Kali has been an exceptional player for the club for a long time,” coach Craig Hill told Counties Sports Hub.
“He has been great with the current group of young backs that we have, giving them guidance, thoughts and ideas for their development. “He has been involve with coaching our U15 Origin teams the past two years.”

Hala reaches his century of games as the table-topping Karaka outfit begin the second round with a trip north against last year’s champions.
