Counties Manukau Rugby is proud to announce that five of their Academy programme players have been named to the Moana Pasifika U20s wider squad as training kicks off this week.
The talented trio from Karaka Rugby Club – David Kama, Gabriel Shepherd, and Thomas Setitaia – will be joined by Mario Vakauta from Patumahoe and Ben Ofa from Manurewa.
Mark Selwyn, CMRFU Men's Academy & Pathways Manager, shared his excitement: "I'm thrilled to see five of our Steelers Academy players included in the Moana Pasifika U20s wider training squad. The lead-up begins this week, and these athletes will compete for a spot in the final squad, which will be announced before the U20s Super Rugby competition in March."
Selwyn further emphasized, "The values of Pride in the Hoops – Courage, Connected, and Work Hard – have been clear in the way these young men train, play, and carry themselves. We wish them all the best as they represent Counties Manukau."
