The Manurewa women’s Premier side will get a shot at redemption as they face Ponsonby in the Auckland Premier Women’s final at Western Springs on Saturday.
The two sides met in the corresponding game last season with the Aucklanders winning the match in extra time after they were locked up at the end of 80 minutes.
Having had to endure that heartbreak, Manurewa are fiercely motivated to turn that result around 12 months on and lift the Coleman Shield.
They overcame Marist comfortably in the semi-finals last weekend and have been building nicely throughout the season.
The match kicks off at 2.45pm.
Ponsonby had the edge in their round robin encounter earlier this season but Manurewa will feel they are a better side than that result indicates.
Meanwhile Papakura Thirsty Liquor will meet North Harbour Barbarians in the final of the women’s Development grade after an extra time win over Waitemata last weekend.
The match will be played at Windsor Park and kick-off is at 2.45pm.
