Club of Origin this weekend
The annual Club of Origin age-group rugby tournament takes place on Saturday at Colin Lawrie Fields in Pukekohe.
Featuring eight U18 sides and six U15 sides, clubs will showcase some of the best young talent in the region.
Games start at 9am, with the U15 final at 12.20pm and the U18 final at 12.45pm.

World Cup involvement for one of our own
Referees boss Brandon Roberts is involved in two games this coming weekend at the Women’s World Cup.
He will be in action Sunday at Waitakere in the Black Ferns v Wales and South Africa v Fiji games as Sideline Manger and Sub Controller 1.
Roberts said he was: “honoured to have an appointment at this level. Apart from being in the middle or with the flag in hand, it doesn’t come higher than this.”

What would it take for you to take up refereeing?
Refereeing is a rewarding way to be involved in the sport without actually playing. It is a great career path and full training is provided.
If you have ever thought about it or think it might be worth a conversation with someone – reach out to Brandon Roberts (brandon.roberts@steelers.co.nz) to find out more.
Be honest and provide context where appropriate. Be bold or as realistic as you want, we want to know what your needs are. Now is your chance to share your thoughts.

Awards night a big success
Congratulations to all the award winners at our annual awards evenings this week. There were two – one for our CMRFU age group sides on the Tuesday night and one for the senior teams on Wednesday night.
A big thanks to organisers as well, who put on a great night to celebrate the success of our teams and players this season.

Maori tournament well-received
The Counties Maori sides did well at the Te Hiku O Te Ika tournament in Waiuku last week.
The Tane side proved too strong for Auckland 25-10 but lost to North Harbour 20-5.
Organisers would like to thank the Waiuku Rugby Club for the use of their facility and grounds. They want to thank Shelly, the wonderful host, the referees and remind everyone about the finals in all grades at Waitakere Rugby Club from 10am.

CMRFU offices closed next week
After a massive season of rugby, the staff of Counties Manukau Rugby will take a well-earned break this coming week.
The CMRFU offices will be closed but key staff will be performing necessities as per usual.
